The words scroller, slider, and carousel are often used loosely, but they describe different interaction patterns.
Scrolling text

Logo scroller

Image carousel or slider

Scroll box

Choose the simplest pattern that fits the content. Continuous motion is not automatically more engaging, and manual navigation is often better when every item deserves attention.
